The text in the upper left corner is in Greek, translating to "The Annunciation of the Theotokos" (Mother of God). The text on the open book in Greek reads: "Behold I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word". It is signed and dated "1941" by the artist "Σπυρίδωνος Μοναχού" (Spyridonos Monachou). Nicely backed on board.
