An early French grain hopper that would have been part of a large milling machine. Stunning typography and colour to the front of the red trapezoidal metal hopper/trough, featuring the machine's manufacturer L FAUCHEUX based in the cathdral city of Chartres, France. This would have been the upper feed bin that held grain before it dropped down into the crushing rollers & stones. The front has a gate that still functions by turning the handle, opening and closing as required, the black gate, lower middle, is shown closed in the images. Now mounted on hardwood teak feet so this unit can be used internally as a characterful log bin or externally as a planter, the choice is yours.
