A genuine Kirby, Beard & Co. novelty bottle opener, circa 1950, made in Paris. In the form of a mallard duck's head cast in metal finished with silver and gilt/gold tone accents on the beak. The underside of the neck, engraved with manufacturer's details, acts as a bottle cap opener while the heavy base allows it to stand upright as a decorative bar or desk object. 13cm long.
